Susana L. is 32 years old.  Susana L. is a bookkeeper.  Her highest level of education is a high school degree.  Susana L. met D when she started taking salsa lessons in 1997 as a beginner.  In 1997, she took lessons in Hollywood at the Edge.  D was her teacher and taught all levels, beginner, immediate, and advanced for salsa.  She took his classes until 2003.  Susana L. also went to the Mayan Club.  In 2002, Susana L. began a relationship with D.  From 1997-2002, they were just friends.  In 2002, they began to have sexual intercourse.  Susana L. says, “It was when out one night.  It happened.”  Susana L. had been over to D’s house before as a friend.  From 2002-2004, their sexual relationship stopped as Susana L. had a boyfriend.  When D saw Susana L., D was single.  The relationship between D and Susana L. had no commitment implied (no strings attached.)  Susana L. didn’t know if D was having sex with women.  Susana L. was “in and out” of the salsa scene.  She “would think D had other women” but it wasn’t a concern of hers.  They were having casual sex.  D didn’t pursue Susana L. when she had a boyfriend.  When they would meet up, D would grab food, run errands, hang out and if it was late at night Susana L. would stay the night.  Susana L. was never attacked or raped by D.
